Welcome!

The Lockyer Fruit and Veggie Cooperative Ltd is a proud, member-owned Cooperative on a mission to revive Australia’s fruit and vegetable processing industry — and bring ownership back into Australian hands!

At the heart of this initiative is a partnership with Lockyer Valley Foods, an Aussie Owned company who are on a mission of their own – to build a cutting edge fruit & vegetable processing facility in Withcott, QLD. This project is estimated to cost $400 million over the next 5 years, and will bring over 500 jobs to the region!

The Co-op’s primary aim is to support Lockyer Valley Foods in their development program and be the major supporter of LVF. We hope to achieve this by raising funds with the help of everyday Australians (whilst Lockyer Valley Foods pursues major investors across the world) and using those funds to secure a collective ownership stake in Lockyer Valley Foods on behalf of our Co-op members.

Approved by QLD Government

Fully registered and approved by the Queensland Government, the Lockyer Fruit and Veggie Cooperative is built on a foundation of community empowerment and sustainability. This isn’t just a venture for farmers or investors — it’s for everyone who cares about the future of our food system.

Membership is open to all Australians at an accessible cost, giving people across the country the chance to own a slice of our agricultural future

Member Ownership

What sets this Cooperative apart is our deep commitment to community-driven values and the active role our members play in shaping our direction and impact. While day-to-day operations are managed by the board, the Co-op’s structure ensures every member has a voice. The Co-op is guided by the long-term interests of its members, with key decisions voted on by members. When profits are made, it’s the members who will decide how they’re used — whether reinvested for future growth or distributed as dividendsThe goal is to reinvest in ways that deliver lasting social and economic benefits to the Lockyer Valley area and wider region, with our members helping shape those priorities over time.

The Co-op already holds over 1.4 million shares in Lockyer Valley Foods, establishing a strong equity position in the company. Alongside this investment, we have some exciting investment projects planned for the future — from scholarships for young people in agriculture, to new community facilities, food development programs, farming initiatives, and more.
